Gaia House

In June 2018, as part of the celebration of their 19th anniversary, AES Solar donated and installed a solar system at Gaia House Interfaith Center in Carbondale, IL. The installation was part of a Hands-on Solar Installation course through John A. Logan College, and was performed by John A. Logan students and AES Solar staff.

American Institute for Philosophical & Cultural Thought

The solar array at the American Institute for Philosophical & Cultural Thought is the perfect mixing of history, education and technology. Not only is the NFP institute housed in one of the few Victorian homes to survive the devastating 1925 Murphysboro tornado, but it is now a reveried creative space for great minds of the humanities to meet, share and explore American thought, while “embracing technology in all its forms.” AES Solar is proud to make solar a reality for the caretakers and residents of this stately home, and to bring a fuller meaning to their stated  mission of “enlightenment,” with a 31 panel, 9.765 kW system.

Illinois Solar Schools Program

The Illinois Solar Schools program, sponsored by the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, aims to educate Illinois’ students on renewable energy with hands-on green energy activities. Classrooms are able to explore how renewable energy works with their own live, functioning systems. This is both fun for the students, and gives them daily experience with how their actions impact the environment.

Aur Beck, Founder and Chief Tech at AES Solar, sees education as fundamental to the company’s mission to power a sustainable economy by bringing renewable energy to America’s neighborhoods. The company has donated solar power systems to schools in Carbondale, Murphysboro, Mt Vernon, Johnston City, Herrin, and Vienna as part of this program.

Habitat for Humanity Houses

Since 2018, AES Solar has held several hands-on training classes in Jackson and Williamson Counties where we helped donate and install solar on a Habitat for Humanity homes. This combination of charitable work and education appeals to two of Aur’s main passions in life, and is an ongoing effort
